CHED Scholarship Program is now accepting applications, allowing eligible and interested incoming first-year college students to receive financial assistance. This scholarship program is administered by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and aims to support academically excellent students who may not have the financial resources to pursue higher education.

The CHED Merit Scholarship Program is a government-funded scholarship that aims to support academically talented students, especially those who belong to underprivileged and homeless citizens, persons with disabilities, and solo parents and/or their dependents.

CHED Scholarship qualifications
To be eligible for the Scholarship, the applicant must meet the following qualifications:
- Must be a Filipino citizen.
- Graduating high school student/ High school graduate with a general weighted average (GWA) of at least 96% for the Full Merit Program and 93% to 95% or its equivalent for Half Merit Program.
- Student-applicants belonging to a special group of persons such as underprivileged and homeless citizens, Persons with Disability (PWDs), Solo Parents, and/or their dependents shall submit certifications and/or Identification Cards (IDs) issued by the appropriate offices or agencies.
- Avail of only one government-funded financial assistance program.
There were 1,374 available slots for the CHED Scholarships program. The application process for the Scholarship is now ongoing and will end on July 15, 2024.
Requirements for CHED Scholarship
A. Citizenship
To apply for the scholarship, a student must provide a certified true copy of their birth certificate as proof of citizenship.
B. Academic
Academic requirements for CHED scholarship applicants vary depending on their academic status. Incoming freshmen students eligible for college must submit their high school report cards. Graduating high school students must provide a duly certified true copy of their grades for Grade 11 and the first semester of Grade 12.
C. Financial
Scholarship applicants must submit any of the following financial documents, whichever is applicable:
- Latest Income Tax Return (ITR) of parents or guardian;
- Certificate of Tax Exemption from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR);
- Certificate of Indigence from their Barangay or Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD);
- Case Study report from DSWD;
- Latest copy of the contract or proof of income for children of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and seafarers.
D. Other Documents
Applicants belonging to special groups such as Underprivileged and Homeless Citizens, Persons With Disability (PWDs), Solo Parents and/or their Dependents, Senior Citizens, and Indigenous People must submit certifications and/or Identification Cards (IDs) issued by the appropriate offices or agencies.

To be eligible for the CHED scholarships, students must enroll in any of the Priority Courses identified by CHED

- Applicants must prepare the complete documentary requirements

- Afterward, applicants must submit the application and documents online to their respective CHED Regional Office.
